Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Piedmont Hills

While Piedmont Hills's victory against Lincoln wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Piedmont Hills sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Lincoln on Thursday. Eight seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Travis Linane was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Toby Torres, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

The win was the third in a row for Piedmont Hills, bringing their record up to 4-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing ten hits in those games compared to only four in the others. As for Lincoln, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4.

Piedmont Hills didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-6 defeat against Leigh on the 22nd. As for Lincoln, they have also already played their next game, an 8-1 victory against Evergreen Valley on the 25th.
