While Pomperaug's victory against New Fairfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rebels 9-8. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The victory got Pomperaug back to even at 3-3. As for New Fairfield, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pomperaug will challenge rival Bunnell at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, New Fairfield is set to face off against their familiar foe Masuk at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
