Recap: Peekskill Red Devils vs. Scarsdale Raiders

The Peekskill Red Devils fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Scarsdale Raiders on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 47-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Peekskill has suffered yet this season.

Despite the loss, Peekskill saw an underclassman step up: Azarriyah Ashley scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ashley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jayla Smith, who scored 11 points.

Peekskill are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Scarsdale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Peekskill and Scarsdale will both be playing Walter Panas the next time they take the court. Peekskill will head out to face Walter Panas at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Scarsdale will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on January 24th.
