St. Joseph is 9-1 against St. Catherine since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lancers will host the Angels at 4:30 p.m. St. Joseph is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

St. Joseph is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Germantown on Saturday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warhawks. The matchup marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mason Ballard was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, St. Joseph saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Kenesie, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Peter Visconti was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

St. Catherine's never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Milwaukee Lutheran last Friday. They blew past the Red Knights 15-3.

Issac Cantu was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Devlyn Kellogg, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

The victory got St. Catherine's back to even at 1-1. As for St. Joseph, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Everything went St. Joseph's way against St. Catherine's in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as St. Joseph made off with a 15-0 win. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Angels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
