Soccer Game Preview: Daniel vs. Greer

Daniel is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Greer is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lions will welcome the Yellow Jackets at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Daniel's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Blue Ridge with a sharp 11-0 win. Daniel's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Meanwhile, Greer got the win against Seneca on Friday by a conclusive 6-2. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Greer's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Seneca are ranked 110th).

Greer's offense was hitting Seneca from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Tomas Veg? led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Daniel is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those eight matches. As for Greer, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
