Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Gold Triumphs

IMG Academy Gold proved they can win big last Friday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Inspiration Academy Lions 6-4.

Rondy Bryant tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Kevin Brinkworth was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mak Moorefield, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

IMG Academy Gold now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Inspiration Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Coming up, IMG Academy Gold will head out on the road to challenge McKeel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Ascenders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Inspiration Academy, they will square off against Southeastern Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
