Basketball Recap: Continental Comes Up Short

Continental was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 50-30 to the Hicksville Aces. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Aces from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Hicksville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brant Langham, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Langham a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Turnbull, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points and four steals.

Continental's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hicksville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Continental didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-34 loss against Lincolnview on the 7th. As for Hicksville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-33 win against Bryan on the 7th.
