Birch Run took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lakeville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons on Thursday, sneaking past 6-4.

Ethan Kenny made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Magyar, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Player #2, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Birch Run pushed their record up to 11-15 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
