Basketball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 56-35 to the Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets. The Flyers were down 49-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Eldon Haack, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 boards. Haack is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caiden Peterman, who posted seven points along with five assists and five boards.

Heartland Lutheran found their leader in freshman Luke Olson, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. Chad Rostvet was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Heartland Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Franklin will be playing at home against Blue Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Heartland Lutheran has already played their next match, a 49-31 defeat against Newman Grove/St. Edward on the 16th.
