Volleyball Recap: Pickens Takes a Loss

Pickens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kell Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

Rilee Wells was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had seven digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four). Madison Lindsey also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Pickens' loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Kell, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Pickens will challenge White County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Dragons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Kell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against North Murray on the 16th.
