            Flag Football Recap: Palma Chieftains vs. Hollister Haybalers        
        
		
        
        
            Palma got themselves on the board against Hollister on Wednesday, but Hollister never followed suit. They blew past the Haybalers 26-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Chieftains' considerable advantage  in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Haybalers are ranked 432nd).

Palma found their leader in freshman  Jillian Scherpinski, who threw for 224 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 85% of her passes, and also rushed for 30 yards. 105 of  Scherpinski's passing yards were hauled in by Natalia Aguon.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Palma's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Gigi Richert.
Palma has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games. As for Hollister,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-14.
 Palma wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  6-0  victory against King City on the 20th. As for Hollister, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  14-6  win against Monterey on the 17th.
