Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berkley). Their defense stepped up to hand the Edsel Ford Thunderbirds a 6-0 shutout on Saturday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Berkley's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Edsel Ford are ranked 62nd).

Berkley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four contests. As for Edsel Ford, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2-2.

Looking ahead, Berkley will venture away from home to face off against Seaholm/Groves at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edsel Ford, they will challenge Allen Park at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Edsel Ford will be up against Allen Park's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.75 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
