Recap: Lakeland Lakers vs. Fairfield Falcons
After a string of three wins, the Lakeland Lakers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They suffered a rough 47-23 loss at the hands of Fairfield. Lakeland has not had much luck with Fairfield recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Lakeland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Katelyn Ryan, who scored 11 points.
Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Fairfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland will take on Churubusco at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Churubusco is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. Fairfield and Central Noble will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Central Noble will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Fairfield is ranked 48th).
