Basketball Recap: Colleton Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Colleton Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 76-26 loss at the hands of the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins. The game marked the War Hawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Colleton Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Mateo Castillo, who posted 12 points. That was a full 46.2% of Colleton Prep Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Colin Hiers was another key player, putting up seven points.

Hilton Head Prep had a senior duo take command as Brendan Moore dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards and Ty Harpring went 10 of 15 to rack up 26 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Moore has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Eanes, who scored nine points and three steals.

Colleton Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Hilton Head Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Colleton Prep Academy has already played their next matchup, a 67-51 loss against Patrick Henry Academy on the 7th. As for Hilton Head Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 80-46 win against St. John's Christian Academy on the 6th.
