Baseball Game Preview: East Poinsett County Warriors vs. Buffalo Island Central Mustangs

East Poinsett County hasn't had much luck against Buffalo Island Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will square off against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. East Poinsett County will be strutting in after a victory while Buffalo Island Central will be coming in after a loss.

East Poinsett County will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Bay, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors walked away with a 5-2 win over the Yellowjackets on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Island Central started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Sloan-Hendrix. They fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday.

Buffalo Island Central's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-5. As for East Poinsett County, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

East Poinsett County couldn't quite finish off Buffalo Island Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
