Recap: Mount Pleasant Tigers vs. Shelby Golden Lions
The Mount Pleasant Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-14 defeat at the hands of Shelby. Mount Pleasant has struggled against Shelby recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Lan Farmer looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 269 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Jaylen Tate and his 94 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Shelby's victory.
Mount Pleasant now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Shelby, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Mount Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Shelby will be playing at home against Lincolnton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincolnton is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
