Soccer Game Preview: St. Joseph's Academy vs. St. Dominic

The St. Joseph's Academy Angels are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Dominic Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Joseph's Academy barely beat Westminster Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Angels put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 5-2 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for St. Joseph's Academy, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, St. Dominic waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Red Knights get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering St. Dominic's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Incarnate Word Academy are ranked 112th).

St. Joseph's Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those seven games. As for St. Dominic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

St. Joseph's Academy beat St. Dominic by a goal in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Angels since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
