Rye Cove entered their tilt with Virginia High on Tuesday with four consecutive wins dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with five. They didn't even let the Virginia High Bearcats on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Tuesday.

Kenzie Hood was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Hood was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Sara Byrd was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harlee Cress, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Rye Cove's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Virginia High, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Rye Cove will face off against Holston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Virginia High, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Virginia High Bearcats take on Northwood Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
