Basketball Recap: Reed Raiders vs. Carson Senators
After flying high against Sparks on Monday, Reed came back down to earth. The Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 67-66 to the Carson Senators. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Senators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Reed's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Spencer, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Spencer is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 63% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Xavier Hoffman was another key player, going 9-for-12 on his way to 20 points.
Carson had a senior duo take command as Kylan Jackson shot 62% from the field en route to 17 points and Ethan Cook went 6-for-9 to rack up 16 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Gabe Borst, who posted ten points and three steals.
Reed dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Carson, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
Coincidentally, Reed and Carson will both be playing Moapa Valley the next time they take the court. The Raiders will host the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Senators will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
