Volleyball Game Preview: Liberty Lions vs. Northgate Broncos

The Liberty Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Northgate Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Liberty is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Granada by a score of 3-1.

The victory didn't come easy: Granada scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Northgate entered their tilt with Castro Valley on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Northgate was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Liberty pushed their record up to 23-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northgate, their win bumped their record up to 37-3.

Liberty couldn't quite get it done against Northgate when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
