Volleyball Recap: Griffith Takes a Loss

After a string of three wins, Griffith's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They came up short against the Whiting Oilers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Griffith was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 25-15.

Saniya Harper paced Griffith's offense, picking up nine kills. Harper got some help from Kaelin Bergdahl and her 13 assists. Elena Rivas controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Griffith's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Whiting, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Griffith does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Whiting, after both having extra time off, they and Boone Grove will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
