Flag Football Recap: San Juan Hills Takes a Loss

San Juan Hills extended their losing streak to 14 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 4-20. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tesoro Titans. While losing is never fun, the Stallions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Titans are ranked 86th).

As for Tesoro, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.8 points on average over those games.

Tesoro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Gillis, who threw for 347 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.3% of her passes. That's the most passing yards Gillis has posted since back in September. Lily Salmon also helped out as she racked up 105 receiving yards.

As of now, neither San Juan Hills nor Tesoro have any future games scheduled.
