Basketball Recap: Everglades Gators vs. Taravella Trojans

Everglades was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Taravella Trojans and fell 63-11. The Gators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Taravella's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KE'SHELL GILBERT, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals. GILBERT is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. WILLYANA JACQUES was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Everglades' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Taravella, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everglades will venture away from home to square off against Pompano Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Taravella, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-31 defeat against Coral Springs Charter on the 11th.
