Colton waltzed into their contest on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Tekoa-Rosalia Nighthawks 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 12 games by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Kiya Soza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs.
In other batting news, Meredith Bell was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. As for Tekoa-Rosalia, they will welcome Dayton at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Nighthawks will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven games.
