Preview: Hokes Bluff Eagles vs. Gaston Bulldogs
Hokes Bluff is 10-0 against Gaston since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hokes Bluff Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gaston Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Hokes Bluff's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Gaston has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Hokes Bluff suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Friday. They were beaten by Southside 66-14. While losing is never fun, Hokes Bluff can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Southside is ranked 40th).
Meanwhile, Gaston had to suffer through a rough 54-17 loss at the hands of Glencoe. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Gaston has suffered against Glencoe since November 17, 2017.
Hokes Bluff now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Gaston, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Hokes Bluff strolled past Gaston in their previous meeting last Thursday by a score of 33-19. Does Hokes Bluff have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gaston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
