Baseball Game Preview: Evansville Reitz Panthers vs. Evansville Memorial Tigers

The Evansville Reitz Panthers will head out to challenge the Evansville Memorial Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Evansville Reitz came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to North Posey. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since May 1st.

Evansville Reitz got a good showing from Josiah Spanner, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Evansville Reitz saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Cape, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Evansville Memorial had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Vikings. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly two runs.

Evansville Reitz has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Evansville Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
