Softball Preview: Floyd County Buffaloes vs. Bassett Bengals
Floyd County and Bassett are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. Floyd County is taking a road trip to challenge Bassett at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Floyd County will be strutting in after a victory while Bassett will be coming in after a defeat.
Floyd County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Fleming as Floyd County made off with a 28-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Buffaloes considering their one-run performance the game before.

Meanwhile, Bassett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-2 to Patrick County.
The victory got Floyd County back to even at 1-1. As for Bassett, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Floyd County took their win against Bassett in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Floyd County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
