Softball Recap: Childress Triumphs

Childress proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 14) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Canadian Wildcats 3-1. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Ansley Parr made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Childress' win bumped their record up to 11-9-1. As for Canadian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

Childress has already played their next contest, a 14-0 victory against Dalhart on the 4th. As for Canadian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 22-3 defeat against Bushland on the 4th.
