Volleyball Recap: Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Comes Up Short

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser lost against Durand-Arkansaw back in August of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.

Ella Turauski paced Chetek-Weyerhaeuser's offense, picking up 18 kills. Turauski got some help from Calli Johnson and her 35 assists. Finally, Turauski was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser now has a losing record of 18-19. As for Durand-Arkansaw, their win bumped their record up to 16-13.

Looking ahead, Chetek-Weyerhaeuser is taking a road trip to challenge Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Durand-Arkansaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
