Basketball Recap: DJ Holland's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West-Oak over Greenville H

West-Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenville H Hurricanes. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hurricanes 14-10 in the first quarter.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DJ Holland, who posted nine points and five assists. Those nine points gave Holland a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harry Burgess, who put up 13 points and five rebounds.

West-Oak's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Greenville H, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

West-Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-46 defeat against Rabun County on the 20th. Greenville H and Woodruff will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th.
