Softball Recap: Chartiers Valley Colts vs. Canon-McMillan Big Macs
Chartiers Valley blew Canon-McMillan out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Canon-McMillan got their revenge. The Colts fell just short of the Big Macs by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Colts have suffered since April 29, 2024.
Delaney O'Connor put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Lily Duffill made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Chartiers Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Canon-McMillan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10.
As of now, neither Chartiers Valley nor the Big Macs have any future games scheduled.
