The Tocoi Creek Toros will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Father Lopez Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tocoi Creek has three straight victories, Father Lopez has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, everything went Tocoi Creek's way against Christ's Church Academy as Tocoi Creek made off with an 18-4 win.

Nate Wade and Tommy Glasspoole made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Wade struck out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Glasspoole pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance gave Wade a new career-high in strikeouts. At bat, Wade scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Glasspoole went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, Karter Alvarez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Micha Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
Tocoi Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christ's Church Academy only posted an OBP of .312.
Meanwhile, Father Lopez fell victim to Orangewood Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.
Tocoi Creek's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs over those games. As for Father Lopez, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Father Lopez's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Tocoi Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Father Lopez, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Tocoi Creek keep running through batters, or will Father Lopez buck the trend?
Tocoi Creek beat Father Lopez 3-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Does Tocoi Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Father Lopez turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
