Baseball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Central Saints vs. Chenango Valley Warriors

The Seton Catholic Central Saints will take on the Chenango Valley Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Seton Catholic Central came up short against Chenango Forks and fell 6-2.

Max Yaeger was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Yaeger wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brian Dempsey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Chenango Valley's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Owego Free Academy on Friday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seton Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Chenango Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
