There's no place like home for St. Thomas More, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Pontiac Indians on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Sabers as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23.

Cassidy Monahan paced St. Thomas More's offense, picking up 15 kills. Monahan were helped by Avery Humphrey and Julianne Kerr, who contributed seven assists each.

Morgan Dewald and Araceli Serna certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Dewald had 21 assists and six digs, while Serna had 11 digs. Dewald is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

St. Thomas More's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Pontiac, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 14-6.

St. Thomas More didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Tolono Unity on the 2nd. As for Pontiac, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Bloomington Central Catholic on the 2nd.
