Baseball Recap: Holy Cross Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Holy Cross hadn't done well against Ryle recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Raiders 4-2. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 7-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sam Addington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Cooper Brue was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was David Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Holy Cross' victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-16. As for Ryle, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8-1.

Coming up, Holy Cross will take on Bracken County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ryle, they will square off against Upper Arlington at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
