Volleyball Recap: Corner Canyon Chargers vs. Skyridge Falcons

Corner Canyon faced Skyridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Chargers came up short against the Falcons, falling 3-0. It was the first time this season that the Chargers let down their fans at home.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 25-22.

Halle Bills paced Corner Canyon's offense, picking up seven kills. Bills got some help from Libby Taylor and her 20 assists. Maija Mortensen controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Skyridge can attribute much of their success to Estelle Slaney, who had 15 digs and one assist. Slaney is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Corner Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Skyridge, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Corner Canyon and Skyridge will both be playing Lone Peak the next time they take the court. The Chargers will head out to face the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Falcons will host them at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
