On Saturday, The Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles faced the Appoquinimink Jaguars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hodgson Vo-Tech came out on top against Appoquinimink by a score of 21-14. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hodgson Vo-Tech.
Hodgson Vo-Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Brown out in front who rushed for 16 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 195 yards and a touchdown. Maki Beach was another key contributor, rushing for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Hodgson Vo-Tech's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Leading the way was Dwain Baker and his two sacks.
