Mount Pleasant kept up with Carson until halftime on Monday, but afterwards: not so much. The Cougars' defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Carson, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

Caylee Miracco and Jasmin Escobar-Leiva scored all three of Carson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Carson's victory bumped their record up to 10-8-1. As for Mount Pleasant, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carson will take on Lake Norman Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carson's defense better be ready for this one: Lake Norman Charter have averaged an impressive 6.6 goals per game this season. As for Mount Pleasant, they will face off against North Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
