Basketball Recap: Mendota Beats Sandwich for Their Third Straight Victory

Mendota had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sandwich Indians, sneaking past 43-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Mendota is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Sandwich, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Mendota will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ottawa at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Mendota is facing Ottawa at the right time seeing as Ottawa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Sandwich, they will host Morris at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
