Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends St. Cloud's Winning Streak

After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Wednesday, St. Cloud came back down to earth. St. Cloud took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Apopka Blue Darters on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2021.

St. Cloud saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Pegauro, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

With the loss, St. Cloud broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5. As for Apopka, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Cloud will head out to take on Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Cloud is facing Davenport at the right time seeing as Davenport is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Apopka, they are taking a road trip to challenge East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.53 runs per game on average), something Apopka will no doubt try to take advantage of.
