Football Recap: Collinsville Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Collinsville had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Paxton Davidson did his part to make it four on Friday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Coleman Bluecats with a sharp 44-20 win with plenty of help from Davidson, who threw for 278 yards and four TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 61 yards. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards.

Chad Davidson was Paxton's top target, picking up 86 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Chad didn't just play on offense: he also made two total tackles and defended two passes.

Collinsville's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Coleman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collinsville will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chico at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The Pirates will be up against the Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Coleman will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 8.8 points per game this season, so the Bluecats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
