Basketball Recap: Istrouma Comes Up Short

Istrouma was the 66-64 winner over West Feliciana when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Istrouma Indians fell 49-36 to the West Feliciana Saints on Friday.

Despite the loss, Istrouma still got an impressive performance from Eryn Brown, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards. That was a full 55.6% of Istrouma's points, marking the 31st time in a row Brown has posted more than a third of the team's points.

West Feliciana found their leader in freshman Ariannah Smith, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 22 rebounds. Those 22 boards gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sa'Lacia Berry, who put up eight points and six steals.

Istrouma's loss dropped their record down to 23-11. As for West Feliciana, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.

As of now, neither Istrouma nor West Feliciana have any future games scheduled.
