Fort Wayne Wayne scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to the Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cadets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Wayne Wayne lost, don't look at Jayce White. Despite the final result, he threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards. 82 of White's passing yards were hauled in by Jaston White.

While Fort Wayne Wayne came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 46.7%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: White and Dereyon Evans, who each logged one passes deflected. Given Jayce's standout performance, it's clear Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran's secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Fort Wayne Wayne dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

The Knights' defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so the Generals' offense will have their work cut out for them.
