Baseball Recap: Miami's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Miami's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Vinita Hornets. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wardogs considering their one-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Chase McCormick, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryce Barnes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Miami always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Miami moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Vinita, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Miami will have a chance to go back-to-back against Vinita: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
