Baseball Game Preview: Salem Wildcats vs. Roxana Shells

The Salem Wildcats will square off against the Roxana Shells at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Salem has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Roxana will come in with three straight victories.

On Tuesday, Salem didn't have quite enough to beat Roxana and fell 2-1.

For Roxana's part, they gave Bradley Herrin the start and clearly made the right call: he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Herrin has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sean Maberry was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Roxana, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
