Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Salle). Everything went their way against the Roger Bacon Spartans on Monday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lancers considering their two-run performance the match before.
Alex Smith tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Isaac Goldschmidt and Joe Harmon did most of the damage at the plate: Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Harmon went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Goldschmidt has posted since back in April. Johnathan Danzinger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
