Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holy Cross). They never let the Geneva Eagles get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Haven Castillo was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Leena Garcia was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Genesis Medrano, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Holy Cross was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .792. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Holy Cross' win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Geneva, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Holy Cross will square off against San Antonio Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geneva, they will face off against Incarnate Word Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
