Basketball Game Preview: Pierce Bluejays vs. Clarkson/Leigh Patriots

The Pierce Bluejays will challenge the Clarkson/Leigh Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pierce is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against O'Neill by a score of 55-47 on Monday. The Bluejays haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Clarkson/Leigh beat Bancroft-Rosalie 50-45 on Thursday.

Clarkson/Leigh's win came from a few key players Pierce will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ava Kasik, who went 9 for 13 en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 18 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn Settje, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Clarkson/Leigh now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Pierce, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Pierce didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Clarkson/Leigh in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 31-25 victory. Will Pierce repeat their success, or does Clarkson/Leigh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
