Softball Recap: La Feria's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

La Feria dropped their record down to 14-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Veterans Memorial Chargers by a score of 10-9. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

As for Veterans Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-14 record this season. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

For Veterans Memorial's part, Itzel Rodriguez was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Rodriguez has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nina Longoria, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

As of now, neither La Feria nor Veterans Memorial have any future games scheduled.
