Baseball Recap: Goshen Central Comes Up Short

Goshen Central and Cornwall Central pushed the score to 12-10 the last time they played Cornwall Central, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Gladiators fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Gladiators were not able to get on the board.

F Mitterbauer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Goshen Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Cornwall Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Goshen Central will face off against Minisink Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Cornwall Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
